Their current prices for both parking and admission should be on their website. Whereever you land for your hotel stay - I would check for a shuttle to ValleyFair - they charge for parking on top of their admission price. They also have their own website which should be able to provide you with the information you need for your travel dates. Again - it is a popular venue for group functions - so I would check for ticket availability well in advance of your trip. I would usually recommend the main shows at the dinner theater unless one of their other offerings has really piqued your interest. The shows themselves are usually high quality.

The dinners are typical midwestern 'large dinner affair' meals, so you will not walk away hungry unless you are a vegetarian. They usually have one 'headliner' show going in their main theater and one or more going in side theaters. They usually have 2 or 3 shows running at one time, and they are mostly family oriented. The Chanhassen Dinner Theater is a good venue for many different performances.

The Mystic Lake Casino is also close by - although they have their own hotel attached to the casino. If you are more interested in horse racing and/or poker - it is probably the closest hotel to Canterbury Park, which has both the racing (check their website for actual live horse racing) and the card playing room (which is a definite adults only venue). There are other hotels in the area, one of which has a waterslide to please the kids (and the adults, as it has an hour of 'after the kids have gone to bed time' allotted) in the pool area. If your visit falls between the 2nd weekend of August and the last full weekend of September, I would check for availability due to the fact that the Minnesota Renaissance Festival is running and hotel rooms tend to fill up at that time. I have only been there for business at one of the businesses housed there, so I cannot attest to the quality of the rooms themselves.

I personally have never stayed overnight in the hotel. The pool area is interesting, but I would check first to see if there is a function that weekend as it seems to be set up for parties and wedding receptions. The bar end of the hotel also houses a number of businesses which separate the hotel rooms from the noise of the bar. It has many guest rooms and a uniqe public area. The Canturbury Inn is a very interesting hotel.
